Thimbleberries Classic Country Christmas [Hardcover] Review

I ordered this book, hoping to get the pattern for the Prairie Pines quilt (featured on the cover). Boy you can imagine how disappointed I was to find this pattern NOT included in the book. Instead the book seems to be devoted to home decorating tips, a few lackluster recipes, and a few small wall quilts.

While I will probably make a few of the wall quilts included, I'm disappointed that I will have to buy another book to get the pattern I want. This book is fine, but misleading... I was hoping to get started on my holiday quilting. Now I will have to wait until next month to buy the book with the right pattern.

All the quilts are irresistible, so much so that I made one of the projects within days of receiving the book.I have been a quilter for 14 years and love how clear the directions are.There are quilts and projects for all levels.Thimbleberries are classics and this book is on the top of my list. I recently bought this book to "inspire" me to start quiltingagain.It worked!This book is fabulous.I have used it as a referencefor unfinished projects, and I am excited to begin making some of thebeautiful patterns in this book (and they are beautiful!).Theinstructions are very clear and the photographs included just addreinforcement to the instructions.The clear labeling of"weekend" and "night" quilts makes it easy to plan theamount of time you will needed in order to complete the quilts.
I wouldrecommend this book to anyone who is either busy or a beginner (and I amboth).And if you are and advanced quilter who needs some beautiful quiltsto make, this is a good book to have as well.This was the firstThimbleberries book I bought, but it is not the last!!
