Finally patterns about all those things we loved as kids.I got this CD as soon as I saw it was available and truly am impressed with the quality of the patterns.I use it to make quilts and wall hangings!Great for gift giving.

Water, Water, Everywhere! [CD-ROM] Review

This CD-ROM may be the best SG pattern collection ever and infinitely better than a pattern book because you can color-fill, resize, and print through Glass Eye.My favorites are the numerous splendid seaside, riparian, and lakeside landscapes.The one thing I miss is a printed image sheet listing the pattern title.It would save some time scrolling through the thumbnails in Glass Eye.I printed the pages from Paned Expressions' website, but not all patterns on the disc are shown there.Also the colored images stored on the CD aren't the same as on the Paned Expressions website.The former are flat color-filled images, while the latter have richer glass-like color variations.I find myself looking at the images from the website rather frequently to get glass ideas.

Stained Glass Pattern Collection - "Oceans & Islands" [Illustrated] [CD-ROM] Review

Excellent designs...I thought it woud have more fish and ocean patterns. There are great flowers and and birds as well. The designs have lots of pieces, but can be simplified.

Polka-Dot Kids' Quilts (That Patchwork Place) [Paperback] Review

The patterns in this book are vivid and exciting for newborns and babies.I made the monkey quilt and will give it to my daughter.Although the quilt is small it is the perfect size for the basinet or for a cheery wall hanging in the nursery.

I found the patterns in this book to be great for the not so seasoned quilter (like myself) and fun to do!!!!

Quilts from Paradise (That Patchwork Place) [Paperback] Review

Is appliqué your thing?If so, Quilts from Paradise should keep you happy for a dozen projects.

The dozen quilts and two bags are all done in beautiful colors but VERY appliqué intense.These definitely will not work for our charity quilting group.There are a few that the appliqué could be left off of to make a simple quilt but I wouldn't buy the book if that is the type of patterns you really want.

All the templates are included at full size which is very nice.I always hate to have to run out to the copy shop to enlarge a pattern before I can begin.The instructions need to be read very carefully in order to follow what is being said and keeping track of which appliqué piece goes with which other ones might be difficult unless you put each "unit" together in a plastic baggie.

The materials list is very straight forward but I did find the cutting and assembly instructions for a few difficult to follow.There are just way too many pieces to keep straight.There is a color photo of the finished quilt and the finished block and quilt sizes are provided.

Unless appliqué is something you enjoy doing and are at easy with keeping lots of pieces straight, I wouldn't recommend this book.It is definitely not one for a beginning quilter.
