Quick Quilting: Rotary Cutting, Machine Piecing, Machine Applique, Machine Quilting [Paperback] Review

Quick Quilting: Rotary Cutting, Machine Piecing, Machine Applique, Machine Quilting [Paperback]Quick Quilting by Kim H Ritter appeared to be an easy to use and valuable tool for someone who is wanting to learn to Quilt.Unfortunately, it is not.I decided on the Lone Star Wall Hanging and promptly went out and bought my fabric. This being my first quilt, I assumed that the yardage given would be correct. It is not.One of the measurements given was for 1/2 yard of fabric, of which you cut 10 2" strips. If I had had more experience, I would have realized that 10 2" strips equal 20" ... not the 18" in a 1/2 yard of fabric.Fortunately, the fabric store had more of the fabric I needed to complete the 6 "diamond" units called for.Again, I should have counted the number of points (8).If I were to re-title this book, I believe I would call it "How to Make sure there is Plenty of Fabric left in the World for those people who DO know how to Quilt".This is one of those books that no one tests before publishing (rather like cookbooks that no one tries the recipes before publishing).
