Thoroughly Modern Dresden: Quick & Easy Construction 13 Lively Quilt Projects for All Skill Levels [Paperback] Review

I have been quilting for seven years and devour as much quilt literature and periodicals as I can.I thought this was a well written, easy to understand, and enjoyable book.I recommend it for anyone who wishes to expand on the Dresden plate theme.Anelie Belden, the author, understands quiltmakers and encourages us to use her projects as a jumping off point to expand our own ideas. She does that beautifully.
Visually, the book is stunning and the fabric choices of her projects are cheerful and engaging.
**All of the projects in this book are for plates with twenty blades.**My Dresden tool is for plates with sixteen blades (I use the Marti Michelle tool, not the "Fast 2 Cut" one she recommends in the book) but I am having no problems adapting the projects accordingly.I do strongly recommend, that if you are going to make a lot of Dresden plates, you should get yourself a Dresden plate rotary cutting template.Life will be a lot easier!!

Comfort Quilts from the Heart: 12 Quick Projects to Take Care of Others [Paperback] Review

If I could give this book twice as many stars I would.

This might not be the only quilt book you will ever need but everyone should have a book like this.It captures the heart and soul of the quilter and allows the warmth, compassion, and generosity to really shine.

This book is quilters heaven.Quilts are all about love, comfort, and warmth and the projects in this book help remind us of that.It will warm your soul, comfort your heart, and bring you hope.

I love this book, simple, sweet, and just wonderful.Fidget quilts for dementia and vision loss, wheelchair quilts with foot warmers, game quilts, bed shawls, walker bags, pillowcases, NICU quilts, tips to make labels extra special...Provide care for those who need extra comfort and treasure the results.

Great resource, fast and easy projects.Excellent tool for those teaching and encouraging kids to learn how to quilt as well as fostering community spirit.

Bravo!

StrataVarious Quilts: 9 Fabulous Strip Quilts from Fat Quarters [Paperback] Review

A great book.Very different from what I usually see.The quilts look like art quilts when they are compelted, but they are so easy. You create "stratas" by peicing together strips, then cut squares or triangles to create the quilts.A really great concept and presented very well - clear instructions and illustrations.
